It's 29 February 2012!

As known or called as leap year that comes every four years which gives February an extra day of 29 days instead of the usual 28 days. People who are born in leap year are unique for having birthdays not every year but every four years. It's either unique or so uncool I guess. They won't get birthday prezzie and celebration every year then.

I wonder how many babies are born today?

As for me, it's not a really good day today. Off to office after 2 days break, trying to gain energy after 6 days away from home and working like there's no tomorrow. Today is also the last day for a friend of mine who are moving to Putrajaya starting tomorrow, someone who I grew to be so comfortable with after 6 months. It's not that easy to find that someone and now she's going away...sob...sob...sob....

The office is totally hot with no aircond at all and to top it off, there's also no water. It's so killing for someone who consume lotsa water and need to go to the bathroom every now and then...

Praying that days will be much brighter even without my best friend around starting tomorrow...huhuhuuuuu

Tadaaaa! Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Api

After struggling to learn how to clean and goggling for recipes, it's such a satisfaction to see the end result...tadaaaaa! So glad that daddy also loves it! Never thought it's not so bad at first try. Or maybe because daddy is not too choosy...

Here's the very simple recipe suitable for beginners like me (^_^) :

Ketam Lemak Cili Api

Bahan-bahan:

3 ekor ketam saiz sederhana besar - bersihkan, buang perisainya dan belah 2
2 batang serai - diketuk-ketuk
200 ml santan UHT tanpa kolestrol (santan segera kotak kecil)
2 keping asam keping(asam gelugur)
Garam halus secukup rasa

Bahan kisar:
1 biji bawang besar saiz kecil
12 tangkai cili api (lebihkan jika suka pedas)
2 cm kunyit hidup, buang kulitnya
2 sudu makan garam kasar
200 ml air

Cara penyediaan:
3. Setelah bahan-bahan dalam periuk mula mendidih, masukkan ketam. Kacau sekali sekala sehingga ketam masak. Ketam adalah masak setelah warnanya bertukar menjadi warna oren/jingga.
4. Rasa masin kuah, jika kurang masin, masukkan garam halus secukup rasa. Kacau hingga garam rata. Biarkan mereneh seketika dan tutup api.

Home Sweet Home

Resting @ home after working 7 days consecutively like hell! Never been working like this before. Body are aching, foot are mumbling for a royal massage due to less rest + sitting down. Ohhhhh home is always a sweet home. It's a place where the heart belongs. How I wish I can just stay at home playing my part as a full time housewife but that's not gonna happen since no work, no money maaaaaa. Money play a major part in this civilized world. No money, no life...

Fresh Seafood

Only manage to go and find something to be brought home @ 9.00 a.m. this morning. My original wanted list was of course the fresh prawns but after seeing my collegues buying crabs and said that it's really cheap @ RM10 per kg, I also bought one kg despite not really into crabs. Sabah is really a heaven for fresh seafoods!

Heavy Breakfast

Due to hardly not eating yesterday because of the tight schedule to finish all the work on time. Had only buns and breads all day yesterday to save time to finish the work. Thank God we're still holding on despite the tiredness of all the hard work....

Second day in Sabah and it's hard to get a decent food here for dinner. Opt for Kenny Rogers finally...

View From Sabah Apt

After 3 days in Sabah, only today I am able to enjoy the sea view. Actually only realized that yesterday. Usually we only arrived at 7 @ 8 p.m. at this apt after whole day auditing non stop and already dark. Can only smell the sea but cannot see it and keep wondering where is actually the sea. So pathetic!

Sabahan's Kuih?

Forgot the name but it had black or red beans in it served by a school that we visited today. Quite a nice one. They even gave us the remaining to be taken back to our hotel. So nice of them!

Simple Breakfast

It's the 3rd day in Sabah and only today I manage to have my simple breakfast instead of all the mee soto. Soto is the only menu which taste ok here compared to others but my tummy don't really have the appetite to consume something that I use to eat for lunch. Thank you for bringing us here where we can choose the menu based on our preferences be it a heavy or just a simple one. Or else it'll be just a waste...

My collegue's menu...nasi with lauk sampan...weird name with a weird taste too...huuu

Whatever the taste is, we still telan it coz we are hungry after a hard day's work with no time to had lunch....there's still 5 working really hard days to go....daaaa

KFC Krushers

While waiting for flight @ 3.45 p.m, accompanying a fren to had her late lunch @ KFC KLIA. She bought this and asked me to try some. Never tried it before, seems not so interesting to me but after tasting her cream and cookies version, I felt in love with it immediately. It's not just a drink but more like an ice cream if you immediately consume it. Yummy! Gonna go and get it next time....

Last Minute Preparation

It's Sunday morning and I'm still working at home, preparing and giving the final touch to my official assignment to Sabah. Gonna catch the flight to KK @ 3.45 p.m. today. Damn I hate to leave my babies behind. No matter you go, home is always the place where the hearts belong. Been super duper busy all this week preparing these and last night and today still struggling with all the official papers, ignoring my loved ones. Works never end you know and I hate to mix both of them. Work should be work and family should be family. Don't ignore your family just because of work. You won't be happy...

Resting As Always

Yep! He spents most of e day by sleeping...when mummy + daddy went to sleep at night, he and Kiki will join us in their own bed but sometimes in our bed. When we are not sleeping, they still sleep around anywhere at their own pleasure for hours! Away from their mummy of course if they want a good day (not night) sleep...there will be no worries at night since mummy will be fast asleep too...heeeeeeheheheeee

Key facts about Whitney Houston, dead at 48

As from The Star Online :

CALIFORNIA: Whitney Houston, regarded as one of the world's best singers, died on Saturday in Beverly Hills, California, at the age of 48, on the eve of the Grammy Awards.

Following are some key facts about Houston:

* Houston won six Grammys, 30 Billboard awards and 22 American Music Awards in her career. Her best-known songs include "I will Always Love You" and "Saving All my Love for You."

* She released seven studio albums, the most recent in 2009.

* Houston's movies included "The Bodyguard" in 1992 with Kevin Costner and "The Preacher's Wife," with Denzel Washington, and "Waiting to Exhale."

* Houston started out singing in her church gospel choir in New Jersey at age 11 and released her first album in 1985 after being discovered by record producer Clive Davis.

* Houston married Bobby Brown on July 18, 1992. They divorced after 14 years and a tumultuous relationship fueled by drugs.

* The last 10 years of Houston's life were dominated by drug use, rumors of relapses and trips to rehab. In a 2002 TV interview, she admitted using marijuana, cocaine, alcohol and prescription drugs. She launched a comeback tour in 2009 and in April 2010 she called media reports she was using drugs again "ridiculous." In May 2011, Houston enrolled in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.

Whitney Houston Has Died?!

Hardly believe it! Only yesterday I blast her greatest hits out after years of buying it and I found it so good despite most of the slow songs which is not really not my type. She has such a wonderful voice, as known all the world. I grew up listening to her songs just like Michael Jackson, mostly on Mix FM which I used to listen to during my teen years.

It was said that she was in LA to attend the Grammy's but end up dying on the eve of the Grammy's. It's fate and we never know ours. All are in the hand of Allah s.w.t.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Last night was Mohabbatein, today it's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai @ TV3...They seems to know I was thinking about this evergreen film after Mohabbatein last night. A few one that attracted my eyes and also my heart.

As from Wikipedia, it is a Hindi romantic comedy film, released in India and the United Kingdom on 16 October 1998. The film was written and directed by the debuting Karan Johar and stars the popular on-screen pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in their fourth movie together. Rani Mukerji features in a supporting role, while Salman Khan has an extended cameo appearance.

The film remains one of director Karan Johar's best films that he made as well as becoming a cultural icon in India. Karan Johar became a household name, and the film helped the careers of all actors involved in the film.

The story:

Rahul Khanna (Shahrukh Khan) and Anjali Sharma (Kajol) are best friends at St. Xavier's college. Anjali is a tomboy, which is the main reason why Rahul is her best friend - Anjali gets increasingly annoyed with Rahul hitting on the other women all the time because, unknown to Rahul, she is in love with him. The principal, Mr. Malholtra (Anupam Kher) informs Anjali that his daughter Tina (Rani Mukherji) is arriving at St. Xavier's from Oxford University in England and requests that Anjali takes care of her. When Tina arrives, Rahul is instantly attracted to her. One day in class, Rahul says that love is friendship and that he shall only love a girl if she is his best friend. This makes Anjali believe that Rahul loves her. However, Rahul and Tina start spending a lot of time together and find themselves being increasingly drawn to each other. Anjali attempts to be like Tina but her attempts are only met by laughter from Rahul and his friends. Anjali's carer Rifat Bi (Himani Shivpuri) encourages Anjali to tell Rahul about her feelings for him. When Anjali does so, she is heartbroken to hear that he is in fact in love with Tina. She decides to leave college without telling Rahul or Tina. When Rahul finds out, he is deeply hurt - he and Anjali share a tearful goodbye. On this day, Tina realises that Rahul and Anjali are in love and that she has come between them. Rahul and Tina get married and give birth to a baby whom they name Anjali. Tina dies after giving birth - she leaves behind eight letters for her daughter, one for each of her first eight birthdays.

Eight years later, on her eighth birthday the younger Anjali reads about Anjali Sharma and is given a mission to bring her back to her father. It is revelaed that Anjali Sharma has changed over these years - she has grown into a beautiful woman and no longer has the tomboy image. She is engaged to Aman Mehra (Salman Khan) but explains to her mother (Reema Lagoo) that she is mostly marrying him out of compromise as she has already loved (referring to Rahul) and believes she can not be in love again. The younger Anjali and her grandmother, Rahul's mother (Farida Jalal) travel to the college and learn that Anajli Sharma is to be married in a week - the little Anjali prays and the wedding is postponed to December. The two learn that Anjali Sharma is going to be working on a summer camp in Shimla so travel there in order to find her. They find her - the little Anjali shares a bond with her. When Anjali Sharma is watching television one night, she sees Rahul who says he misses his daughter, who is at summer camp - she then realises that she has met her old friend's daughter. Rahul arrives at summer camp and is overjoyed to be reunited with Anjali after all these years. They feel themselves being drawn towards each other again. One night, they are dancing in the rain and Anjali sees her engagement ring and feels bad. Coincidently, Aman arrives that night and informs Rahul that he and Anjali are getting married. Rahul is hurt by this news but expresses his happiness in front of Anjali. Anjali believes Rahul is rejecting her again so decides to leave with Aman that same day and have the wedding as soon as possible.

Rahul and his family arrive at Anjali's wedding. Rahul goes to visit Anjali one last time - Anjali still loves Rahul and cannot bear to leave him. Aman notices this - he explains his guilt for coming between what he now knows, is a fated love. He releases Anjali from their engagement. As Rahul and Anjali marry, the little Anjali has an image of Tina giving her the thumbs up.

Starting Work @ New Level

It's the end of a long break finally, a week aka 7 days that is. Thanks to our country for having various kinds of religion, belief and culture but still manage to live in a harmonious way despite the difference. Hence, we shared most of the festivals in Malaysia with lots of public holidays all around the year.

Yep, today it's back to the office as the long break ended and it's my first day @ the new level. Well, we'll never get 100% what we wanted. As for me, moving to this new floor have pro and cons. At times I feel that it much better to just stay put. Seems like things are getting worst from one place to another....

A New Back Pack

Went to Pertama Complex today to buy a new back pack. Thank you daddy for sponsoring! This new one is suitable and really compact since it can carry both camera and laptop. It was a gift since mummy is going to outstation again a couple of weeks from now and being efficient, I need to carry all the gadgets with me to smooth my official duty. Well, heavy or not....duty is duty to be accomplished at our best no matter what.

Lunch @ Insaf Restaurant

Instead of going to pizza hut as originally plan, we went to Insaf instead since it's already on our way back from buying mummy's tudung bawal at Jln. TAR.

Of course it's yummy as ever. Even the price kept increasing from RM10 that I'm aware of to currently RM13. Their mango juice is superb as always made from e original blended mango @ RM5 each.

The bill for two, RM36

Furry Supervisors

Both of them are busy supervising daddy cleaning their 'room' aka pooping + peeing spot + where their double decker bed aka cage is also there. Might be saying, daddy please clean it properly...we love u, daddy! Tq for cleaning it for us. They are so blessed to have a daddy like him ^_^

Chap Goh Meh aka Chinese Valentine's Day

As from the net :

Chap Goh Mei is basically the last day of the Chinese New Year festival which is celebrated on the fifteenth day. The term Chap Goh Mei is derived from the Hokkien dialect when translated simply means the 15th night of Chinese New Year. Chap Goh Mei is also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day, another significant purpose for this day besides being tagged as the last day of celebrations. This is also a night where family members come together and have a meal while offerings and prayers are also held in conjunction with the celebrations.

Just like the first day of Chinese New Year, Chap Goh Mei is celebrated on a grand scale as the houses are decorated with bright lights and red lanterns. You can see that many of the houses provide offerings for the deities as the candles and joss sticks flicker in the wind. If you go to temples you can see many of the devotees perform prayers and asking the God of Prosperity to bless them with success and wealth for the coming year. The night will also be filled with activities as you may be able to witness cultural performances, lion dances and other various activities which you will have to wait another year for should you miss out on it that night.

As mentioned before, the last day is also marked as the Chinese version of Valentine’s Day which will definitely bring forth lots of fun and gaiety. On this night of courtship the young ladies will dress to the nines and go to the temples in hope of finding their prospective suitors. In Malaysia most of the single people turn out on this night for the same purpose of match-making.

However instead of going to temples and finding their significant other, what most of them do is take mandarin oranges and write their name and phone number on it. Then they would throw it into a lake or a pond which traditionally signifies that the lady is available for marriage, however in modern times it is usually to find a boyfriend. This is definitely one of the main highlights of Chap Goh Mei and something that is popular amongst the youths even until today.

You would think that this tradition was passed on from China however it is not. In fact it originated from our very own shores in the state of Penang. The tradition of throwing mandarin oranges started sometime ago in the late 19th century. So every year on that particular day you would see throngs and throngs of single people flock to the Esplanade armed with mandarin oranges and personal information scribbled on the skin of the oranges.

Another tradition with regards to Chap Goh Mei is that this is the only day throughout the whole year where the young maidens would be allowed to walk the streets but they must be accompanied by a chaperon. The young men would also go out and in hopes of catching a glimpse of the young maiden and taking their hand in marriage. Obviously this does not happen anymore but the concept of match-making still lives on.

Need 2B Super Duper Careful Next Time

We bought this a couple of weeks ago during our monthly grocery shopping. Daddy wanted to dipped it with the potato wedges that mummy bought. Somehow we or rather I didn't check it out properly worried that being daddy, he always nagged when mummy spent some time to check on the items. No need to inspect larrr just take it, save time...hurry up! Haahahaaaaa

When we already back home...tadaaaaaa! Only realized it's expiry date is approaching in two weeks, today that is so there you go in the dustbin! Barely consumed. What a waste buying something but didn't use it at all. How ever we gonna finish it in only two weeks with mummy who keep watching the diet. Coleslaw is not gonna be good to my weight if consume regularly of course.

Moral of the story : Next time, be super duper careful, choosy and picky okay!

Potata Wedges For Tea Time

We had nasi lemak Tang Ling for breakfast today...mee kuah for lunch and out of idea of what to eat for tea time so I just take out my supply of fast food from the freezer. One of it is potato wedges which I buy in bulk from a shop near my office. It taste quite good actually, very much like the KFC one with all the seasoning.

Deep frying in the process or else it will break into pieces.

Yeah I know, I should have opt for these non-fat yogurt rather than...

This oily full of fat wedges! Ohhhhh it tastes so good esp. if dipped with Life's Thai chilli sauce!
