Mcd's New Classic Chicken McDeluxe & Chicken McBites

McDonald's Malaysia has introduced a new member to their menu starting today which will be available for a limited time only called Classic Chicken McDeluxe (an extension to the Spicy Chicken McDeluxe which is my personal fav) and also Chicken McBites which is very much like chicken nuggets but made in a bite size pieces.

As an avid lover of McD's and chicken, of course it is a must have for me....

Breakfast @ Rojak Bellamy

It's Deepavali and public holiday so we head on to one of our favorite food spot @ Jalan Bellamy which is Rojak Bellamy. It is behind the Istana Negara and near Alice Smith School.

My personal favorite is their Rojak Mee Ayam while for daddy, it's Rojak Ayam without the mee. Also tapau four of Rojak Ayam and bring them to Serdang for family to try it. What I love the most about this Rojak is their peanut sauce which is so creamy and tasty. The rojak here is priced between RM3.50 to RM5.50 each.

AF Homestay In Arau, Perlis....The Best Ever!

An entry and review on the home stay that we rented for mummy's convocation last Saturday. I believe it is the best homestay that I've ever been. Owned by a teacher located in Taman Sri Wang 2 Arau, the humble owner completed the house and make it as if we're entering our very own home! Mummy found this home stay in mudah.my actually. Am so glad that this home stay is so comfortable despite just looking through the internet.

It is a corner lot house with quite a large yard which is enough for 2 cars to park. It has 3 bedrooms, each with its very own queen-sized bed which really suits us...a family with 3 couple...me and hubby, mama and abah, adik and hubby...each couple has its own room and no one ever need to sleep on the floor (^_^). It also has 2 bathroom, one in the master bedroom and another one near the kitchen. Plus 2 airconds, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room.

The master bedroom with its own toilet and shower plus aircond

The master bedroom toilet

The second bedroom

The third bedroom

Another toilet near the kitchen

The kitchen....very comfortable and piled up with basic materials for cooking! Such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, tea, maggi and even eggs in the refrigerator!

The living room with aircond and tv with Astro but need to bring our very own Astro smart card in order to enjoy the Astro channels. We didn't know about it so just enjoy the basic channels.

What impressed me the most is this home stay is so complete as if we were in our very own home. Apart from the basic cooking materials, the owner even supplied the home with praying mat and telekung for prayers, shower gel, shampoo and dishwasher. Even more, it also has iron and ironing board, a brand new automatic washing machine which is still in its wrapper, stove, refrigerator, plate, spoon, fork, pot, glasses...complete! You'll only need to bring your body there! Am so thrilled since I've never come upon a home stay like this. Usually we need to bring our very own needs and necessities especially the cooking materials if we plan to cook. Let alone the bathing items.

At RM180 per night, of course it's worth every cents of your pocket money....a home stay which feels very much like our very own home! A highly recommended home stay in Arau, Perlis....very near to UiTM and Matrikulasi Perlis...

For booking, do contact the owner Cikgu Ariana @ 013-4499101 or Fakhrul @ 012-5550033.

Enjoy your stay @ AF Homestay as much as I enjoyed mine...

Perlis, Here I Comeeeee!

Safely arrived in Kuala Perlis from Langkawi @ 12.30 p.m. Approximately 45 minutes to arrive by ferry with fare of rm18.

Wait for daddy to arrive from kl and then headed to my fav nasi ayam madu in RPA Arau for lunch.

After that, hunt for convo studio photoshoot near the area where mummy used to resides when I was a student in Arau...the package was affordable compare to what mummy has surveyed in kl...alhamdulilah!

Finally, after settling the most important thing to mummy we went off to our room in Mata Ayer...since it's Thursday and off peak, it's only RM50 per nite. Tomorrow we gonna move to another homestay waiting for family to come and mummy gonna b busy with picking up my robes, rehearsal, doing clearance and hopefully there's a chance to make pre convo photoshoot.

I'm terribly excited!

Hunting for Corelle

Mummy and daddy has actually been craving for Corelle sets for years! Their design are beautiful and it's really super light weighted! Been wanting this since our honeymoon in early 2008 but back then we can only afford to buy a set of Visions. Had felt in love with this purple simple flower design so mummy take the opportunity surveying our wish list while in Langkawi. Daddy is really crazy about the triangle sets that costs much that the usual round plate designs.

The survey that I made at Idaman Suri....

Triangle set of 12 pieces @ RM339

A loose triangle plate @ RM40 per piece

A set of 20 pieces @ RM399. The saucer and its plate alone costs more than RM50 if buy loose!

A never seen set including 4 glasses @ RM200+

And these were at Ismail Group...the price had no difference actually. Only that Idaman Suri has a set that comes with 4 glasses @ only RM200+ but when asked for it at Ismail Group, I was told that there were no such set with glasses. Wonder which one is real....

Round dishes plate @ RM29 per piece

18 pieces @ RM419

After lots of discussions, surveys, many telephone calls and mms, we finally opt for the daddy's fav...the triangle sets.

Last but not least, these are the target for next trip...heheheheee....so much angan-angan!

Pray that we'll be blessed, manage to save some money and come back here in future to borong next in the wanted list (^_^)

Langkawi Laksa Utara

Me and my shopping collegues are having our final shopping spree tonight @ Kuah town since we are going home tomorow and tonight is the very first night we dine in outside due to the time constraint and won't able to reach the hotel on time for dinner. Had a local Laksa Utara priced @ only RM3 per bowl and it is extremely delicious!

Wednesday Morning @ Bella Vista

Having early breakfast at their Coffee Garden Restaurant...one of today's menu is roti canai, a very delicious one that I had all my life especially the sambal ikan bilis.

Quite a weird menu that I had today...salad early in the morning.

Had a chance to have a simple photoshoot @ the hotel area due to the early breakfast.

Our conference room where the workshop is held...a really cold one.

A Heaven for Chocolate Lovers!

A visit to Langkawi is of course would not be complete without buying the chocolates which is super cheap due to Langkawi duty free status. Hence our first mission right after checking in the hotel is shopping for chocolates @ Kuah town.

These are the pictures complete with price taken for my future references and comparisons but I believe that the price is very much the same as 3 years back only now I'm introduced to a new brand of chocolates such as Almond Gold and Ritter Sport compared to the usual Daim and Hersey's

Hotel Bella Vista Langkawi

Our room @ Hotel Bella Vista Langkawi...a superior room with 2 single beds but quite a small one though for two. Barely had space for us to perform our prayers. Feels like entering a Tune Hotels room instead of a comfortable room for conference. It's not that I'm too demanding but have been to hotels in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching few years back for official duty and sharing too but it's still comfortable for two.

The toilet and bath is quite comfy though with its own hairdryer, thank God despite the packness. But then, the hotel doesn't provide iron and ironing board service to superior room and we need to go to ironing room outside in order to iron our clothes...that reminds me to bring my very own iron for the next official trip! Had never thought to walk down and carrying all the baju kurungs and tudungs over the corridor in order to iron them! Thank God that I bring my own clips and hangers to ease the job.

The hotel is quite unique though, designed to look very much like British Colonial era and there's also sea view but am not sure whether we can swim or not at the beaches.

A nice and historical architecture in the form of old castle

The sea view where the hotel pool located

Anyhow, the hotel is not really strategically located. It's in Kuah where the shopping heaven are located but somehow the hotel is far from the main road and hard to get taxis unless you call up for them. We actually walked quite a mile today to shop right after checking in for we had not much time to spare since our workshop is jam packed until night.

This hotel is not really suitable for super shoppers unless you're willing to fork some money for taxis every time you want to go out and shop. A taxi would cost RM6-RM8 to the shopping spot in Kuah, depends on whether you call them to pick you up @ the hotel or the taxi is already @ the hotel waiting for passengers. Honestly, it's still hard to find a taxi that's already waiting for you in the hotel area.

Tips for future guests in Bella Vista : Get the contact number of the taxis when you arrive in Langkawi or asked the hotel receptionist to get you one. For guests who rent cars, then it should not be any problem.

p/s : We were told that this hotel is the only choice that we had since others have already been fully booked especially one that is convenience to walk to the shopping paradise (^_^). It's not that we were only thinking about shopping and not our main purpose coming here. But then since we are already here, better take the opportunity to grab some hot items especially the one that is much more cheaper here than others...wink....wink...

Attending a Workshop in Langkawi

After 4 months, mummy had been given the opportunity to finally see the world outside our KL office...attending a workshop on Financial Audit in Langkawi starting tonight until this Thursday. Am so glad to be given the opportunity to join all my seniors. As a newcomer, there are so many things that I've to learn in order to be as good as them.

Taking ERL from KL Sentral to KLIA to catch the flight to Langkawi. It only took 30 minutes to arrive.

The view from my flight. It drizzles when we were departing from KLIA

The hotel where the workshop takes place, somewhere in Kuah but it's hard to move around or go out to explore Langkawi due to its not so strategic location, far from the main road.

The view from the hotel...feels like wanting to honeymoon all over again! I'm just so into beaches and sea view! So soothing...

A Week To Convocation

After months of waiting and counting, finally my convocation day will come in 7 days! Am so excited to be back in Perlis! Really missing the foods so much and also excited to meet all my batchmates....a reunion after almost 6 months apart.

For months I've been preparing the list of foods that I'm craving for in Arau....they got the best food ever! Tasty and affordable....

Goreng pisang in front of Matriks

Bihun sup RPA...they also got the best Nasi Ayam Madu ever!

Pokok Assam where it's famous for ikan keli and various Malay traditional dishes to choose from...just look at some of the dishes! yummy!

ABC @ Anjung...my favorite lunch spot where it's Thai food are marvellous!

Another delicious nasi ayam place somewhere in Kompleks Tok Arau (forgot the name but never the taste)

A decent chicken chop @ Dapur Ibuku

Another Thai food specialty called Anamuda where the tomyam is superb! A restaurant somewhere along the road to Istana Arau

Anamuda's chic chop...quite a nice one

Last but not least, the specialty all the way from Perlis...mangga Harum Manis

There's still a few food in other eateries which I didn't have the pic but will be updated if I had the chance to go there next week....arghhhhh can't wait!
