Lunch @ Wong Solo Kg Baru

It's Friday and public holiday so mummy and daddy dine out for lunch after Friday prayers. We went to the famous Wong Solo in Kg. Baru to try out their ayam penyet.

They had a set meal per pax priced @ RM10.90 each consist of complete set of rice, fried tempe, fried tofu, veggie and drinking water. You can choose the set either grilled chicken, fried chicken, ayam penyet and the other two, pecel lele and empal sapi (I don't even know what that is, a special Indonesian menu I guess).

We opt for a set of grilled chicken and another set is ayam penyet, the specialty of course. They take quite some time to serve the customers and if you're starving, it would cost your patience waiting for the food to arrive.

As for the food, the ayam penyet set is really hot and spicy and made me finish all my iced milo! Thank God that daddy actually switch the set with mummy. Being a pure Kelantanese, he won't stand the extra hot and spicy. Daddy ordered for the ayam penyet but when the order arrived, he gave it to me since mummy actualy wanted to try the ayam penyet compare to the grilled chicken.

As for the grilled chicken, it was quite sweet...extra sweet actually and taste funny due to the sweetness. My guess was, maybe they want to offset it with the really hot and spicy set so that we don't turn red finishing it (^_^)

The bill total up @ RM27.30 for the two us.

If you want to try this one out, the branch in Kg. Baru is in Jln. Raja Alang near the Masjid Jamek Kg. Baru and Kg. Baru Medical Centre.

They also had a branch in Ampang, Bandar Tasik Permaisuri, Bangi and Shah Alam.
